How is China a Blend of Tradtional and Modern Culture?
Last summer a group of USM Upper School teachers, parents and students had the opportunity to travel to China with their teacher, Mrs. Lu. During this trip, they reflected on the essential question for our class, "How is China in 2011 a blend of traditional and modern culture?" Please watch the video they created for us by clicking here. The password, if asked, is Chinatrip.
Then, under your advisor's name, please write at least one new thing you learned from the video as your blog comment for this week. Since the video is 20 minutes in length, you will have all week to complete the assignmnet. The comments will be due on Friday, December 9th. Moreover, you may use any of the information from the video as questions/facts for your China Unit Board game project.

people that were poor in farming villages had flatscreens.
i found out that no matter where you go kids are kids
and i also learned that "Friday" is a terrible song
I learned that a lot of things are modern three.
I learned that the chinese really like the American people,and that liked to learn the American songs "Friday"
I learned that in China some people are poor but have computers and flat screen TVs
I didnt know that there are holes in the apartment to let good spirits in and bad spirits out.

China's architecture is definitely a blend of past and present. There are buildings from skyscrapers to The Great Wall of China. I think I would want to go on that trip to China when I'm in eleventh grade!
